Abisal, el primer álbum de LÅANG, es la destilación de dos días de grabación, por primera vez en multipistas, tras 10 meses de reuniones bimensuales de práctica improvisatoria. Aquellas reuniones, que quedaron registradas con medios más limitados, dieron pie a los tres EPs publicados hasta ahora, con más aún por llegar en la serie.
El segundo día de grabación del álbum culminó con el que, hasta el momento, fue el último concierto de LÅANG: al día siguiente Miguel Hernández volvía a Chile, Tomás Flórez se mudaba definitivamente por ahora a Asturias, y al mes siguiente estallaba la pandemia que nos encerró a todos. El grupo aprovechó el encierro para seguir trabajando en la producción del disco con reuniones virtuales semanales para la escucha y toma de decisiones editoriales. Como para tantos otros y mientras los tiempos sigan siendo convulsos, el futuro de LÅANG deberá pasar por reinventar su método de trabajo y adaptarlo a la distancia forzosa, lo que augura cambios y movimientos en los resultados conseguidos, otro camino hacia el psychӕmbient.

Abisal, LÅANG’s first album, is the distillation of two days of recording, on multi-track for the first time, after 10 months of twice-monthly improvisation sessions. Those sessions, which were recorded using more limited media, gave rise to the three EPs released to date, with more in the series still to come. The second day of the album’s recording culminated in what was, to date, LÅANG’s final concert: the next day Miguel Hernández returned to Chile, Tomás Flórez made the (for now) permanent move to Asturias, and the next month saw the outbreak of the pandemic that locked us all down. The group took advantage of the lockdown to continue working on the record’s production, with weekly virtual meet-ups to listen and make editing decisions. As for so many others, and as long as these unsettled times continue, LÅANG’s future will have to involve the reinvention of its working methods, adapting them to forced separation, which promises to bring shifts and changes in the results achieved; yet another path towards psychӕmbience.
